I have been working with Graeme from Sales Blueprint as part of a mentoring programme to help me develop into my new role as Director of Sales.
As Director of Implementation previously, I had been involved in many sales pitches throughout my career but was very much self taught and whilst I had experience of running teams, these had not been sales teams.
We started by helping me understand more about myself and how to adapt my natural style, before moving on to developing the processes and tools required to effectively manage both internal and field-based sales activity. In parallel, Graeme helped me apply my people skills to the sales environment and gave me the confidence to make some difficult decisions at times. Also, being able to call Graeme in between the sessions with any specific questions has provided invaluable additional support as and when needed.
After six months I feel confident enough to say that I could now manage a sales operation virtually anywhere! We have just had a record year here in terms of new customer wins and I look forward to more of the same next year.
